Q: What led you into writing fanfictions?
A: I enjoy reading and writing a lot especially with my favourite couple ^^ And I think writing a fanfiction also improves my writing skills.

Q: When did you start writing stories?
A: Around four or five years ago.

Q: What do you wish to achieve with your stories?
A: Improvements in writing skills and a good development of the plot and characters.

Q: What do you think is most important in being a good writer?
A: Being a good writer to me means the possession of a profound writing style and he/she has to have a firm grasp of the story itself. Good planning of the plot and characters and originality are also quite important in my opinion.

For the month of December 2007, the spotlight is on Iris Lim, author and champion lyricist at AV Odyssey.

Q: What led you into writing fanfictions?
A: I began writing AV fanfictions after I read excerpts from AV odyssey's fanfiction section. I was delighted to find a way to satisfy my writing bug while having fun with the celebrities I liked, so I decided to go for it.

Q: When did you start writing stories?
A: I started to write stories when I was around 12 or so. I wrote mostly short stories before, so fanfiction was my first try at serialized writing.

Q: What do you wish to achieve with your stories?
A: My goal in writing is to make readers identify with the characters in the story. Then they could enjoy going through the characters' experiences with them. At the end, the readers could also come back to the real world and live with whatever they have gained from the stories.

Q: What do you think is most important in being a good writer?
A: The most important things about being a good writer are having a desire to communicate with one's readers and having the skills to do that. Skills without a desire will not produce good writing, and a desire without skills will not produce successful communication.

For the month of November 2007, the spotlight is on Ashi, author of two ongoing AV fanfictions.

Q: What led you into writing fanfictions?
A: Ever since I started reading AV stories in Winglin, the authors with their magnificent written words fascinated me into hauling the different lives enveloping me into a written piece.

Q: When did you start writing stories?
A: I started writing since Oct. 14, 2003 when I was 14 years old. Many people think their first story is always a failure, including me, but the first story will always be the one that will stick to one's heart.

Q: What do you wish to achieve with your stories?
A: All I wish to accomplish is to attract AV readers all over the world, writing their own stories and inspire other bookworms to write their own, too.

Q: What do you think is most important in being a good writer?
A: A skillful writer would never abandon his or her story. You should never start a story you know you cannot finish. Readers are always supporting and reading.

For the month of October 2007, the spotlight is on ghostdarTealc, author of four AV fanfictions, amongst which is AV Odyssey's longest HZGG continuation.

Q: What led you into writing fanfictions?
A: It was actually after i watched HZGG II in 2001 that i discovered there are tonnes of fanfictions on the net on the continuition of HZGG. i loved reading them, and had a couple of favourite writers (none of which never finished their stories, sadly). I never imagined of writing a fanfiction of my own; for me reading is probably my thing. I had ideas of HZGG III, but never thought about putting it into a real story. It was actually the news of Qiong Yao filming the third installation, and the rumours that it won't include the original cast, that made me decide to write up a version of my own. I was extremely disappointed and pissed off to know that my favourite actors won't be joining the cast, so i guess you can say that my anger led me into writing fanfiction :p

Q: When did you start writing stories?
A: I started HZGG III around the early of 2002, before i went to college. I was pissed off, and had loads of time in my hands to write, and so i went for it. The next thing I know, I had four AV fanfictions on going.

Q: What do you wish to achieve with your stories?
A: I wanted to express my imagination, to incorporate what i have done in my life into my stories and to share with my readers the excitement i felt in writing them. I love reading, and i know satisfaction comes from reading a good material. i intended to contribute one of those, and i hope those who reads my stories would have the very same satisfaction as I had while writing them.

Q: What do you think is most important in being a good writer?
A: For me, I would say self-motivation and the love for what you do. A writer cannot be a good writer if he does not enjoy writing, no matter how many ideas he has stocked up in his head. Although some say motivation comes from the feedbacks and the number of readers who actually reads your story, to tell you the truth, the lack of those shouldn't put you down. I write for my own pleasure, although I'd be more pumped up with the feedbacks I get from my readers, I never actually stopped writing when I never had any. Two of my stories have been completed, and while two other are still in production, I dare say the lack of time for me to spend on writing won't put me down and abandon any of them ;) It has been a very slow ride for me (and for my faithful readers; those few who had stayed with me for the past five years) but as I said before, as slow as it may go, the arrival to the destination is definite :) Compliments and feedbacks from readers are important, but without it, you're no less than of what you are now. It is your work, and if you really enjoy it, you wouldnt stop even if no one reads it. This is what that have kept me going, and kept my stories alive.

For the month of September 2007, the spotlight is on HMSChocolate - AV Odyssey's most prolific author.

Q: What led you into writing fanfictions?
A: The first type of fanfiction I ever heard of and read was actually Harry Potter fanfiction. This was around 2002 when a lot of the plot of the HP series was unknown and I had my own theories of what would or should happen later so I wanted to share those theories. As for AV fanfiction, again, I was driven by my love of the "What if?" and "What happens next?" regarding AV's Huan Zhu Ge Ge. Eventually I had so many ideas in my head that I just had to write them all down.

Q: When did you start writing stories?
A: I started writing AV fanfiction in 2006. It was partly because then I was on a half-year break between school and university with nothing to do, partly because of all ideas dying to get out in my head.

Q: What do you wish to achieve with your stories?
A: To share my dreams and fantasies of what could happen to the characters, to entertain myself and others. I also write simply because I love writing.

Q: What do you think is most important in being a good writer?
A: I think to be a good writer you have to, first of all, enjoy what you're doing and what you're writing about. If you don't enjoy it and it becomes a chore, then nothing you write will be very good because you are not putting your heart into it. Also, you can take constructive criticism but shouldn't be discouraged by people not liking what you write or malicious reviews. Opinions will always differ and you can't please everyone. In the end, you should be writing because you want to, not because you want praises from others.
